OpenOffice-bin Installer can't connect to X-server

The "xhost +localhost" instruction could be a little clearer.
The intended situation is:
1. You have started X as a regular user (either from startx as regular user
or logged in as a regular user from xdm|kdm|gdm).
2. One of your xterm's is running as root (through the "su -")
3. In the xterm you are logged in as regular user (not root),
you need to give the command "xhost +localhost" before you try
to "lin openoffice-bin" in the xterm that is logged in as root.
If you are running your entire X session already as root then
you do not need to mess around with "xhost +localhost" because
root already has access to the display.
And of course you are inside of X for all of this right ?
You are not trying to "lin openoffice-bin" from a linux console
right ?
