sysfsutils fail build

I just checked the cvs revisions and jol updated it last stating that 
"on some systems" if you didnt run the autotools it wouldnt compile. 
Can other confirm or just test to see if sysfsutils breaks or doesnt 
break with the autotools running in the BUILD file?
