eject and 2.6

Reguarding 2.6 and 'eject'
Gentoo uses this patch. http://mirror.hamakor.org.il/pub/mirrors/gentoo-portage/sys-apps/eject/files/eject-2.0.13-kernel25-support.patch as can be seen in http://mirror.hamakor.org.il/pub/mirrors/gentoo-portage/sys-apps/eject/eject-2.0.13.ebuild

It might be worth looking into gentoo ebuilds for the other packages that "don't play nice with 2.6".
