depmod-a returns the following
*** Uresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.20-lunar-r1/kernel/sound/acore/snd.o
lin linux runs to completion, then lin alsa-driver starts automatically and fails with the same error.

hi,
you are apparently missing the kernel module.dep file, possibly caused
by a conflicting set of kernel sources/running kernel or a
non-modularized kernel.
possible solutions:
- 'depmod -a' to regenerate the modules.dep file
- 'make modules_install' in your kernel source tree
- 'lin linux' to completely reinstall your kernel
a reboot might be "needed" after any of these commands to make sure it
works again.
