Modem commands

I've installed Lunar ok, and gotten my PPP connection working happily.  I'd 
just like to know how if there's any way I can include the

ATL0

command in the /etc/ppp/peers/isp script, or send it to the modem some 
other way.  I want to leave the machine downloading/compiling overnight, 
but having the modem dial out every ten minutes or so will quite possibly 
enrage the downstairs neighbours (I feel I've tortured the poor things 
enough with my violin playing).

I tried sticking it in the script but at that point the modem stoppd 
reponding to dialing commands.  (Generic external Dynalink modem.)
