hotplugging

Anyone know of how to edit the hotplug config to make a pda work with
the usbnet module? You know, plug in the pda to the box, usbnet fires
up and creates a usb0 interface (just like an eth0 but.. different). I
had it working by hand a long time ago but that was a kernel or two ago
and I cant get it again :). Besides this is supposedly easier so! Any
help would be appreciated.

PS apparently this is supposed to already be in the distros own config?
i have no idea, but then thats debian and redhat people talking, so im
not betting very high on that
