DEPENDS for squid and Question about SysV

Perl needs top be added as a DEPENDS for squid.

I've heard some not so new rumors about SCO is wanting
to charge Linux users becuase Linux is based off of
Unix or something of that aim. One of my friends said
it is becuase they made (own?) SystemV ... I
recompiled my kernel without SysV and it seems to
work... any ideas on what programs required it besides
the DOS emu?
