I assure you, the ICH9 based system I have is not a netbook. More like 
an HTPC. And yes, it's hooked up to a 1080p LCD tv. And yes, it plays 
big buck bunny (1080p OGV - so completely not hardware accelerated) just 
fine.

mostly the same core logic, some marginally higher clockspeeds, 
different shaders etc. For 2D and video playback, they're really not 
that different.
