Commented this out and no problem;
  VGA=`lspci | grep 'VGA.*VMware.*SVGA.*'` &&
  if [[ $VGA == *VMware* ]];then
     OPTS+="--enable-gallium-svga "
  fi &&

I don't have vmware/gallium anything around so don't know about its 
correctness.
