perl new stable version

Well I'm no perl guru, but http://www.cpan.org/src/README.html
would suggest that this version is a development/rc version,
whereas the perl FAQ has 5.14.x and 5.12.x as stable versions.

Confused? I certainly am. Why not wait a week for the dust to clear?
