guys... i have found out that the problem is not fontconfig... the
problem is lunar...

has to do with bug 277... basically what we have is that somehow
(imho) not all configure options from the BUILD scripts are being
passed to the configure script....

so even the patch i added to fontconfig is a bit redundant... though i
prefer to keep it
