With great pleasure we release "Moose Drool", also known as
the Lunar-Linux 1.6.1-rc2 Installer ISO in to the public. This is the first production
ready ISO release that installs both on x86_64 and i686, which gets us ready for our
final 1.6.1 release on 2 architectures

This ISO comes with gcc-3.4.6, glibc-2.3.6, linux-2.6.19.2 (*), perl-5.8.8,
and other rock solid base components. The new kernel means better PATA and SATA support.
Updated discover allows better hardware recognition, and smooth installation on
non-common hardware. More disk-related modules are now available on the installer too so
you can install on cciss and other raid systems (SAS) with less trouble.

(*) the x86_64 iso has 2.6.19.1

The x86_64 version is native/pure 64-bit, and thus does not provide grub as a bootloader
, as there is no pure 64bit grub bootloader yet. We're planning and experimenting with
multilib support, but a mixed 32/64-bit ISO is not expected until after 1.6.1-final.

KNOWN ISSUES:
(1) during install time, errors are displayed when the kernel sources are extracted.
These are harmless and non-critical. We advice you to install a kernel from source after
installing, as some packages require a properly installed kernel source.

(2) Grub is not available on the x86_64 ISO, allthough it shows up in the menu's as a
possible choice. Please use lilo.

Please report other issues asap to us, thanks!
