Hi,
I'm glad to release 1.6.1rc1-i686 for general testing into the lunar community. This ISO
is an incremental update to 1.6.0 and features full updated packages, including kernel
2.6.18.2. This ISO is meant as a refresher for newer systems and new installs, reducing
the time to get those updated to the latest packages and providing support for newer
systems that require a more recent kernel for hardware support.
The ISO has the same size and packages as the 1.6.0 one. -mm, -prepatch and -rc kernels
were removed alltogether fromt the build code, as they are too out-of-date for the
general user. EFI boot support was enabled in the default kernel, allthough the ISO
still uses syslinux and thus will need a compatible BIOS to boot afaics.

as with all RC's, we appreciate your comments and suggestions, as well as error reports.
Please send them to the lunar-dev mailinglist or directly to me, or file a bugtracker
issue as usual.
Current known issues:
* Linux-PAM is not functional, but will not affect installs
* misc. error/warning messages at boot (udev, inotify, cdrom format)
Cheers,
Auke
