Ack,

Florin, others, I suggest removing the flag and giving it a test run, but I
don't see any reason to keep this flag around if we know it's troublesome.

Hi!

I think the --enable-fast-malloc=full option should be removed from kde BUILD
scripts. This option makes some applications generate similar errors:

***MEMORY-ERROR***: [4332]: GSlice: failed to allocate 248 bytes (alignment:
256): Bad argument

The 'enable-fast-malloc environment' sensitive apps are:
fireworks screensaver
arts
... and other not discovered/reported yet.

enable-fast-malloc is deprecated and causes troubles.

I built most of base kde modules and some other kde modules without malloc and
the memory errors disappeared, applications run correctly now.

more info here:
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125740

also
--with-xinerama
is redundand and does not exist in kde configure scripts anymore. KDE now
autodetects xinerama presence and autoactivates support for it where
available.

What do you think about these improvements?

have a nice day,
Zbigniew 'zbiggy' Luszpinski
