hi everyone!!!
okay espresso.lunar-linux.org is up and running and there are some notes
to keep in mind:
1) lunar-linux.org is espresso.lunar-linux.org is 213.201.214.201. This
is the default IP. on this IP listen all external mail services (smtp
port 25, imaps port 993 pop3s 995). use 'espresso.lunar-linux.org' or
'lunar-linux.org' as handle.
2) lunar-linux.org listens on port 80,and rsync (for allowed mirrors only)
3) xfce.org listens on port 80 (for all xfce.org urls) and pserver (for
anoncvs) , so cvs.xfce.org, bugs.xfce.org etc etc all point to the same
virtualhost.
4) all user accounts should work. within 2 days you'll find a tarball
named 'yourname.tar.bz2' in your userdir that contains your stuff from
dbguin. restore everything with 'cd ~ ; tar xjvf yourname.tar.bz2' if
you want it all back and mess up your homedir. I will REMOVE ALL
TARBALLS IN A MONTH to save disc space.
5) we serve DNS zones xfce.org and lunar-linux.org from the box. that
means host aliases etc... can be made by the admin team.
6) the admin team are sofar && tchan (for now) and remco who is the
sponsor, operator and owner of the machine (he promised to be nice).
Remco will not be available so please don't bother him. Anyone that
previously had root will get it back under conditions (if you don't use
it you don't need it). I plan to clean up a bit and starting clean makes
it easy. no sudo access either unless there is a real need for it.
7) pop3s and imaps should be working again now, please try (I don't use
it anymore)
8) Reverse DNS is not working and until it is we will have problems with
mail. sorry, nothing I can change myself yet (the netblock owner is slow).
9) if something is not working, missing, wrong, insecure, abused, please
inform (the admin team) by either filing a *task* on the lunar
bugtracker (lunar-linux.org/report) e-mailing me (sofar at xs4all.nl if
mail is down).
10) I dunno prolly a lot more.
*** more to come! ***
