According to the INSTALL file[1] in the git source
the DEPENDS should be more like this:

depends zlib
depends openssl
depends curl

optional_depends openssh "" "" "for pushing and pulling over the net"
optional_depends tk      "" "" "for a TK front-end git tool"
optional_depends cvsps   "" "" "for CVS repository support"

I've responded to this person or issue before. git clearly has a run-time
depends on rsync. I'm not willing to budge on this. I say leave the DEPENDS
file alone. Also the lunar git module installs some Python based tools. So
this one is a weaker run-time depends, but I still say leave it alone.
