... version 1.2 won't build: problem detected during POST_INSTALL.

(This also seems to prevent the creation of a proper log,
since the POST_INSTALL instructions force the inclusion of all
compilations of dependent modules in the same log.)

Basically, libxcb 1.2 does not include libxcb-xlib, which is required by
many programs:

gnome-desktop
gnome-panel
gnumeric
goffice
libbonoboui
libgnomecanvas
libgnomeprintui
libgnomeui
etc.

However, libxcb-1.2 itself compiles correctly, as can be seen by the
attached compilation-only log. Simply, it lacks libxcb-xlib. Checking the
configure script of libxcb-1.2, it is clear that libxcb-xlib is not
available in version 1.2, not even as an optional component.

I tried lin -cr libxcb -w 1.1
However, it causes problems with libX11 (I think), which has been updated,
is not compatible with libxcb 1.1, and is being used by other programs
(such as Seamonkey).

Something seems wrong.
Please reply asap as this bug prevents access to many programs.
