Summary: xfree86 fonts installation stage should be split up
Description:
right now 50-70% of compile time on xfree86 is wasted on the font routine,
even though no architecture specific code is being handled. A recompile of
the binary components is therefore slowed down enormously, and at too much
expenses. We should remove all the cruft from xfree86 and make it a
separate module, that reduces compile times on second and further
compiles.

I will work towads this for the next release of Xfree86, I agree they
should be split up in 2 seperate modules. the next version of X will
prolly have around 8-9 source packages which now I believe its 7. We
could split it up into 3 diffrent modules really which would really help
out.

1: Xserver, Drivers and Libs
2: Fonts
3: Docs

This would mean less download time which for me atm is a big plus here.

May i suggest another thing to put separately for reducing compile times:
xfree-drm. If you recompile the kernel, the whole xfree has to be
recompiled just so that the drm modules are compiled against the new
kernel (total waste of time)
