Some more "troubles" with faad when no XMMS is installed:

ok, seems you're missing automake/autoconf, so I'm making faad depend on
them since they're required for the bootstrap script to work...

Could you try the following in about an hour (around 9:32pm -0500 GMT)

lin lunar (unless you're using theedge)
lin moonbase
lunar renew
lin -c faad

This could also be related to your other posted bug about faad..
