I don't get these at all, even doublechecked distcc running on other boxes.
Are you running the latest theedge? last nights fixes might include
important changes regarding distcc...

Yes I am running the latest as I updated theedge before this arose. I was
testing distcc to see if it was working again when I noticed this anomaly.

turns out that only the newest distcc does this, I was still on an older
version on 08-15. I have it too now.

Added /root/.distcc to excluded. distcc shows no way to prevent otherwise.
